From my sketchbook: Common Chaffinch - My first attempt at painting a bird in oil.
What I’m building
When I listen on Spotify or any other streaming service for that matter I get to see the Album artwork. It’s kind of part of the experience. Like when you play a vinyl record you have this huge display you might even prop it up on a stand while the record is playing. With a cassette tape the experience is not quite the same, kind of like listening to the radio. It’s mostly just audio aside from the small cover art of the cassette.
What I’m sketching
I like fun portraits as well as a good doodle. What started as a sketchbook idea, I finally painted in oil.
What I’m exploring
I was 18 in my senior year of high school, barefoot in shorts, enjoying the warm summer night. I heard a motorcycle revving outside and went out to see who it was. To my surprise, it was Jake, at the end of the driveway, riding a brand new lime green Kawasaki Ninja, waving me over.
Who I am
I’m a technology leader and artist who loves exploring ideas across code, canvas, and metal. My background spans engineering leadership, UX design, drawing, painting, and building motorcycles and models. Whether I’m leading a team, sketching in my notebook, or fabricating something in the garage, I’m always chasing new ways to blend creativity with technology.
